At EBIKE-DEPO, we believe every electric bike should be judged by what it delivers in its first year. No marketing fluff. Just real ride time, technical power, and long-term value. This page explains our method and provides the full rankings table based on our three-part formula. The formula was inspired by the experience our founder had riding multiple e-bikes from class 1 to class 3. Comparing LECTRIC 3.0 vs LF & LM 750 PRO: Real-world electric bike ratings using cost per mile, reliability, and technical score after 1 year in Florida. Encountering problems with each brand since it was his only mode of transportation in the city of Miami. Having the need for reliable transportation that could beat traffic and provide the freedom of movement he desired he evaluated time on bike, performance, and range as the key elements of being mobile all the time. Every brand will have a change of break pads at 2000 miles.
Here is:
OUR RATING RANKING FORMULA
1. Cost Per Mile (CPM)
Includes the purchase price, maintenance cost, and estimated downtime cost (first year)
Lower CPM = better value
Score normalized on a 10-point scale
2. Time Value Score (TVS)
Measures how many days the bike was actually rideable in the first year
Formula:
TVS = ((365 - Downtime Days) / 365) × 10
Represents the real-world reliability of the bike
3. Technical Rating Score (TRS)
Based on three components:
Battery Capacity (AH) – 40%
Top Speed (MPH) – 20%
Mileage Usage (miles ridden / projected lifespan) – 40%
All metrics are scaled to a 10-point score and weighted
Final Overall EBike Ranking Score:
Overall = (CPM Score × 35%) + (TVS × 30%) + (TRS × 35%)

INTERPRETING THE RESULTS
LF ULTRA leads the rankings due to an exceptional combination of low cost-per-mile, perfect uptime, and excellent specs.
Pinus and Sequoia perform well as strong all-rounders with high battery capacity and real-world mileage.
LECTRIC 3.0 shows where marketing can differ from reality, with a high CPM and low TVS due to frequent downtime.

🧮 Scoring Breakdown – Technical Rating Score (TRS)
Component | Formula | Notes |
✅ 1. Battery Amp-Hour Score | Score = (AmpHours / Max AmpHours) × 10 | Max AH = 30 (e.g. Quercus avg 20–40AH) |
✅ 2. Top Speed Score | Score = ((Top Speed − 28) / 5) × 10 | Speed range: 28–33 MPH Cap at 10 |
✅ 3. Mileage Utilization | Score = (Mileage Utilization / 100) × 10 | Example: 3,000 miles out of 6,000 lifespan = 50% Cap at 10 |
📊 TRS = (Battery Score × 0.4) + (Speed Score × 0.2) + (Mileage Score × 0.4)
💰 Scoring Breakdown – Cost Per Mile (CPM)
Component | Formula | Notes |
✅ CPM Formula | CPM = (Purchase Cost + Maintenance + Downtime Cost) / Miles | Downtime Cost is estimated at $28 (2 hours/day × 14 days × $1/hr) |
✅ CPM Score (0–10) | Score = 10 − ((CPM − Ideal) / (Max − Ideal)) × 10 | Ideal CPM = 0.25, Max CPM = 0.90 Lower CPM = Better Score |
⏱️ Scoring Breakdown – Time Value Score (TVS)
Component | Formula | Notes |
✅ TVS Formula | TVS = ((365 − Downtime Days) / 365) × 10 | Based on actual uptime in the first year only |
✅ Max Score | 10.0 | A bike with zero downtime scores a perfect 10.0 |
✅ Prorated Deductions | Each 30 days of downtime ≈ −0.82 points | 14 days downtime ≈ 9.61 TVS, 90 days downtime ≈ 7.53 TVS |
